This grade of aragonite is specifically engineered for plenum type nitrate reducing beds or anywhere a deeper bed is called for. The pore water space created by the precision grading also allows maximum pH support and dissolution of calcium carbonate. This is a very versatile product! Grain size 1.0 - 2.0 mm.
This is a good intermediate sand size product. The precise 0.5 - 1.5 mm grain size combines some of the animal friendly properties of fine sand such as ingestibility and low resistance to burrowing, with better diffusive flux properties and good porosity.
This product has something for every bottom dwelling animal. Soft oolitic sand is easy to burrow into while the gravel and rubble size ranges provide the material needed for cave and burrow entrances. Grain size 0.1 - 2.0 mm.
0.2 - 1.2mm diameter grain size. Also known as "oolitic sand," this grade is ideal for shallower bedsallowing dentrification in little 1" depth. The fine can pass easily through gills of gobys and other sand-sifting organisms. Smooth round grains are gentle to soft bellied sharks rays. White color metal freeno ash or silica.
Seaflor Super Reef Sand: 1.2-4.0mm diameter grain. This mixed grade is also ideal for nitrate reducing systems or simply as reef tank bottom cover. The addition of small shells makes this an ideal substrate for tanks with mature jawfish, or burrowing inverts.
CaribSea Seaflor Fiji Pink Reef Sand: 0.5-1.5 mm diameter grain size. A gently hued aragonite, CaribSea Seaflor Pink Fiji Reef Sand is ideal for plenum systems, nitrate reduction systems and most fish and reef tanks. Helps achieve the pH of natural seawater. Proves calcium and other essential trace elements like strontium and magnesium.
